Support Us!
Raise money for X-CPR just by searching the web and shopping online!

Please fill out and send in the application, here. This insures that you are on the waiting list (without paying any fee at this point) and are higher up the list.
Q: What is the cost of a Xolo?
The costs without a grant/sponsorship will vary depending on where we get the dogs from and the costs incurred by the program. These placements are typically not less than $1600. With a sponsorship, the cost to the applicant will not be less than $500. Included in the cost of your Xolo, you will receive service dog training support by telephone/email for one year (at the applicant’s phone expense); and a special service dog placement packet (including start up puppy stuff).
Q: I need a Xolo service dog! How do I get one?
The first step is to submit an application from our website. http://pawsforcomfort.com/site/node/36
Even if we do not have Xolos available, or you are not a match for these particular pups, or you are not ready yet, we will be placing dogs going through the applications in our database in order of submission, so the sooner you get yours in, the better.
If you are at all interested in a Xolo, we recommend that you fill out an application now to be on the waiting list as once we do get funding, we will go through the applications in our database first and in order. Actual placements will be made by the best match, in the order of the database.
You will be entered into our waiting list database, with accurate info on what type of dog you want, your contact info, including state, so when funding becomes available in your state, you will be notified first. There is no fee to be in the database.
Q: How do you decide who gets which dog?
We go by the order of submissions as much as possible. But our mission is also to place the best fit of dog to person. For example, if you require a toy-size Xolo and a larger Xolo is available, we will place it with the next available person who matches this particular dog. Your name would still stay on the top of the list for the next available toy-size Xolo.
Q: Why is there a non-refundable $100 application fee?
There is a non-refundable $100 application fee once you request that we start actively processing your application when we notify you that we have dogs available to place. This involves our time and resources.
We accept credit cards through Paypal. You may use Paypal without additional fees for the $100 application fee. However, if you charge the full cost of the dog, we ask that you pay the Paypal processing fee for a large sum of money, which is approximately $55. You can also send your check or money order to our PO Box to avoid this processing fee.
Q: What does the non-refundable $100 application cost cover?
The cost covers more than what you would get from just a Xolo breeder. First we make a match for you, not just sell you any Xolo. If the pups we have available don't match your needs, which we will help you assess, we go looking for you. Also included is a one-year membership to X-CPR™.
Q: What is an X-CPR™ membership? How much is it?
There will be a special login membership area on the website where special blogs, training tips, chats, discounts at PawsForComfort.com, as well as other events will be available only to members.
Membership is $25/year. And tax deductible!
Q: Is there a grant in my state? Why can’t I apply for the California grant?
Unfortunately, we do not have any grants at this time, anywhere. Currently, California has rescinded their grant. They did not believe in the concept. As the organization grows, we will be approaching every state an applicant resides in for funding.
Q: Can I get a dog without a grant or sponsor?
Yes, the dogs are for sale. If you are able to financially pay for the dog yourself, we will still consider you for placement, but not a sponsorship/grant. Sponsorships are intended for people who are in a state of financial need, but can also afford to maintain and train the dog without financial assistance. Everyone will be considered for placement, but not everyone will qualify for a grant.
Q: How can I speed up the process to get my Xolo?!
Start your own fundraising campaign for yourself:
• Do your own grant/sponsorship research.
• Open a Xolo savings account at your bank.
• Have a fundraiser event, garage sale.
• Ask friends/family/spiritual center for small donations to help you build your Xolo savings account.
• Donate your time to X-CPR™.
• Encourage your contacts to donate their time and funds to X-CPR™.
• Share articles and media about X-CPR™.
• Ask for an informational packet from X-CPR™ to give to your doctors, therapists, support groups, media, vets, schools, any place you can think of!
• Provide our database with your contact information and demographics.
• Keep in touch with X-CPR™, especially if you haven’t received a reply!
Q: If I get a Xolo through X-CPR™ does X-CPR™ do the training for the service dog? How do I get the dog trained?
We’re a small but growing organization and we depend on our Paws For Comfort® and X-CPR™ volunteers for a lot of assistance. Since we are placing puppies and not fully grown, trained service dogs, X-CPR™ cannot do the training directly, but we can help you find service dog training for your dog in your area. We will also provide some literature on service dogs and service dog laws.
Q: If I buy my own Xolo pup from somewhere else, can X-CPR™ train it for me or provide training consultation?
No.
Q: What does “service dog” mean?
Service dogs by law must mitigate at least one of your symptoms by their behavior. In this case, providing heat which relieves muscle pain qualifies, and retrieval skills relieve fatigue. Service dogs are therefore allowed in public places where pets are not allowed, such as airplanes, movie theatres, shopping malls, etc.
Service dogs and the cost of their care are tax deductible under medical. But they must be trained as service dogs and pass the Public Access Test if you use the dog in public. If the dog only provides service to you at home, you can still deduct all costs related to the dog under medical expenses, but you do not have to pass the Public Access Test, since you will not be taking the dog in public as a service dog where other dogs are not allowed.
We hope we can help you experience the healing power of Xolos. I'm allergic to most meds, as many of us are. Toaster and Pink have been the best meds I could imagine. The side effects are wonderful!!! I can't tell you how much Toaster and Pink have changed my life. Not to mention my fatigue - Pink's an incredible retriever! Did you go through the gallery and see her retrieving the printer paper? She's a riot.
